How to wear gingham trousers this summer

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m one of those gingham aficionados! Truth to be told, the gingham print is more a classic, here, in the south of France than a trend. However I tend to be picky when it comes to gingham. I always carefully choose the size of a gingham print or the colour. I’ll admit that pink is a colour I will always avoid when it comes to this print, as a French salami brand is using pink gingham for their logo… Nonetheless, gingham is extremely versatile and easy to style, that’s why I’ve always been into it.

For the summer, I would usually go for a black and white or a blue and white pattern. They are the prettiest, in my opinion. Both set of colours are usually easy to style with other colours, from neutrals to brighter colours. Just like you can see on the photos above, even if I paired those gingham pants with a white shirt, I still added a pair of burgundy slides. It adds an interesting contrast to the outfit and make it more interesting. I’ll admit that I didn’t take any risk, as burgundy is an easy colour to style! To finish the look, I picked a basket bag. It’s neutral colour help to add this little summery touch I was looking for!

How would you style gingham for the summer?

Reading your blog I could see you are a gingham lover. You style it very well probably the same way I would style it if I would have to. Personally, I don’t own any item gingham yet, I got my eyes on some but there are more for hotter season which unfortunately is not in Denmark yet.

I’m a gingham fan myself and I’m also quite picky about them! I ADORE those pants -I thought they were a regular straight leg pair until I saw that the sides had those gorgeous ruffles!
My summer style tends to be very minimal yet colorful and bright :]

I love black and white gingham with a white shirt – it’s a classic look with which you can’t go wrong. I really like your addition of the basket bag, it really gives the look a romantic feel. I think I want to experiment with some bolder colours to mix it up though; I’m loving hot pink at the moment!
