Since my mom and I, are about the same size, we have this habit to steal each other’s clothes. My mom has always been my biggest source of inspiration when it comes to style. You can actually blame my love for polka dots, stripes and denim on her! As she grew up during the “yéyé” in France, she was always inspired by Françoise Hardy, France Gall or even Jane Birkin style.

It’s not a big surprise that, later, I would become that big vintage lover always on the hunt for one of those authentic 60s or 70s piece.

If I remember well, she told me she bought this top during the 70s. This top had a pussybow collar that she got removed. Needless to say that I fell in love with this top! I love the simple cut, the cute print and the button-up front! And as you can see, I sneaked it out of her wardrobe for today’s blog post.

To style this top, I wanted to go for a casual summer outfit. I paired it with one of my favourite pair of kick flare jeans from Mango. As the outfit was too “blue”, I decided that I would put on some tan sandals from Bocage. To finish the look, I pick a straw bag and I was good to go!

Ps: When I showed her the pictures I took for this post, she decided to give this top to me

How would you style this top?

This top has a timeless quality, but I do get the
70’s vibe. Perhaps a navy gauzey skirt , ala boho,
    hippie-ish .
