I know that last time I wrote on this blog I said I would definitely come back after a long blogging break. Well, that’s obviously something I didn’t do! I’m sorry I bailed on you another time but last summer was quite a busy one. As the title says, I launched my very own sustainable brand! That’s one of the project I kept a secret for a very long time. Well, not that long… At least a year!
As some of you may know, I studied fashion for four years and worked in the industry in London. Launching my brand has always been my ultimate dream. However, when I realised that I was pushing 30 without having much done, I decided to take matters in my own hands. The thing is that building a brand without loads of cash or an investor backing you up with an army of seamstresses and pattern makers is tough. Nearly impossible.
That’s why I decided that all my clothes were going to be handmade to order! After all, this is how clothes used to be made before fast fashion. People would go to a tailor or a seamstress and wait for a few days, if not a few weeks, to get a garment made. If you choose to order from my brand, not only you will get a piece with a soul but also a garment carefully made in France in my very own atelier.
As of today, fast fashion is one of the most polluting industry in the world. I’ll have to admit that I got a bit sick of all the consumerism. I won’t lecture anyone on the subject, this post isn’t the point and I may not be the best person to talk about sustainability. So, without further ado, here a few of my designs:
The Serge shirt, made of 100% Oeko-tex cotton
The Olivia dress, made of 100% Oeko Tex cotton
The Christy top, made of 100% Italian silk
The Mila blouse, made of 100% Oeko-Tex cotton
My clothing line is actually inspired from my own style. It’s vintage inspired but also timeless and classic.
And there are a few more designs to discover here! There isn’t any particular collection, I just follow my heart when it comes to designing something. I just want to propose timeless clothing that will last for a long time.
I will also release trousers really soon! I still need to work on the patterns a little bit more as I want the fit to be perfect.
Last but not least, how does the handmade to order process work? Well, basically, Once an order is placed, I will start the sewing process. It usually take one to two weeks (at most) to ship an order. Working that way will make sure that there is no waste, no unsold stock but also unique and carefully made pieces. You can also check the return policies here.
Oh, and I can only take 30 orders per week 🙂
Well, I hope you will all like my brand! And do not worry, I will not stop blogging! <3
